Owls are hard to spot during the day because they are nocturnal. Their eyes are fixed in their sockets making them immobile. Since they cannot move their eyes they have Owls

The three common woodpecker species that have visited my backyard are the Downy, Hairy and Red-bellied Woodpeckers. The tongue of the woodpecker is wrapped around it’s brain thereby protecting it Woodpeckers

Ibises and Herons are large birds with long legs and a long neck. These water and wetland birds live in lakes, bays and marshes. They use their beaks to feed Ibises and Herons

These are small-medium sized birds that live in aquatic habitats. They are mostly migratory birds. They have long wings, short tails and waterproof feathers so they can still fly when Shorebirds, Gulls and Auks
