We’re now over five weeks into the New Year, and for many people, this is the moment when goals either quietly fade—or begin to take shape in a more realistic way.

I spent time creating my vision board and setting goals for the year. I don’t treat goals as rigid or all-or-nothing, but I do take them seriously because they help me stay intentional.

One of my focus areas this year is nutrition. Instead of trying to change everything at once, I asked myself a simple question:

What is one small, sustainable habit I can repeat daily?

For me, that answer was committing to one nutritious meal a day—meals built around real food, quality protein, and vegetables. I started this about ten days into the New Year, and so far, it’s been a rhythm I can maintain. I’ve also become more aware of my sugar intake and more intentional about water. Small shifts. Real difference.

What I’m learning is this: progress doesn’t come from perfection. It comes from choosing something doable and showing up consistently.

Clear’s right—my goal was better nutrition, but my system is one nutritious meal every day. The system is what’s working.

If you’re feeling behind on your goals, maybe the question isn’t “Why didn’t I stick to it?” Maybe it’s “What’s one small habit I could commit to today?”

That’s often where real change begins.
